Events attended in April 2019

April 30, 2019

04/04/19 Ministerial Visit by Hannah Blythin AM to Rhyl.  We couldn’t have picked a worse day for a Ministerial visit to Rhyl, it rained the whole time we were walking round the Town. The visit started in SC2 which the Minister was very impressed with, and then escorted her around the other developments in the Town Centre

05/04/19 Isle of Anglesey County Council’s Chairman Charity Concert at Ysgol Gyfun, Llangefni.  This was an excellent evening show with 3 brilliant acts. The highlight was Gruffydd Wyn Roberts from 2018 Britain’s Got Talent who is really talented with funds raised going to the Chairman’s charity, the new St. David’s Anglesey Hospice.

25/04/19 Presentation of Certificate concerning Ruthin’s status as a ‘Coach friendly town’ held at Ruthin Craft Centre.  A super achievement for Ruthin Town Council who have worked very hard to attain this award of Coach friendly town. I think Wales has 5 coach friendly towns/ cities with Ruthin now being one and more per population than the rest of the UK.

26/04/19 – Mayor of Rhuddlan’s Fish & Chip Evening and Picture Quiz of Rhuddlan.  An evening in Rhuddlan Community Centre was held to raise money for the Mayor of Rhuddlan, Councillor Gareth Rowlands’ Charity, Rhyl Raptors Wheelchair Sports Club.  This included a quiz about Rhuddlan (which we didn’t do very well in) and a fish and chip supper which we did better at!

27/04/19  Rhyl Town Council Mayor’s Charity Evening.  This evening event was held in Rhyl Town Hall to raise money for the Mayor of Rhyl, Councillor Win Mullen-James’ chosen charities, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Branch of the British Heart Foundation and the North Wales Women’s Centre.  There were numerous acts who gave their time for free to help the Mayor.  One of the highlights was a Choir from Mind who had the room in tears. The evening raised over £700, well done all.

30/04/19 Enterprise North Wales Celebration and Final Event 2019 held at the Conwy Business Centre, Llandudno.

A lovely day spent viewing stalls and giving out prizes to some very inventive children from schools all over North Wales. Ysgol John Bright from Llandudno were the overall winners.
